“This study investigated some of the circumstances under which ‘notices to quit’ were issued to care home residents or their representatives and the impact such a notice can have on residents and their families. The research included interviews with relatives of care home residents who had received a ‘notice to quit’, an analysis of 27 decisions published (January 2021 – September 2022) by the Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman regarding such notices and discussions with people managing care homes.”
